HOW CAN I HELP?
There are a number of ways you can help:
Your Generosity of Time and Caring
The Salvation Army can only fulfill its mission to serve the poor and less forntunate men, women, and children of our community with the help of our neighbors and friends. Some participate in the daily life of the programs such as the Dorothy day Soup Kitchen; others contribute cash or goods.
You can make a cash donation anytime during our office hours at our 65 S. Park St. location. We will gladly offer you a receipt for your donation.
Feel free to download a Website Check Return Slip at the bottom of this page. When you are ready, return the slip along with your donation. We will make sure to prompltly send you a receipt for your donation. Make sure to check next to YES if you would like to be added to our mailing list. Also, you can receive our newletter by simply adding your email address to the return slip. As a donor, we want to provide you with up to date information about what The Salvation Army is doing in Greater Bangor.
To make an on-line dontion, follow the link provided. You will be directed to an Internation Salvation Army site to make your donation. We will be able to track your donation which will quickly be routed to our local branch of The Salvation Army.
Donors make all the difference in the lives of the people who come to The Salvation Army. Your generosity helps The Salvation Army provide food, clothing, counseling and support. In addition to monetary donations, The Salvation Army relies on thousands of donations of food, supplies, and furniture to provide support to our clients.
For furniture pick-up, please call (207) 941-2993
The Salvation Army always has a need for volunteers to help us in our different programs. Volunteers come from a variety of different venues, businesses, service clubs, colleges, sororities & fraternities, churches, and youth groups (i.e. Honor Societies, Church Senior High groups, and Key Clubs). Our volunteers do much more than serve meals at The Salvation Army. They organize drives to generate food and personal care donations. Volunteers are a critical part of the effort. At the Dorothy day Soup Kitchn they assist with preparing and serving the meal. Volunteers have stepped forward to operate program on a regular basis. Tell a friend about our website!
