We love because God loved us first Image

We love because God loved us first

The Salvation Army provides spiritual services to anyone God brings across our path.

At its Heart, The Salvation Army is a Church

This foundation is what motivates us to do the work that we do

Our Worship and Service Centers

We operate over 7,500 worship and service centers in neighborhoods across the United States. Each center is a church to the local community, as well as a place anyone in need can receive help with a wide range of social services. Worldwide, there are just over 2 million members of The Salvation Army's church. Many more attend services at The Salvation Army.

How We Help Share God's Love

At its heart The Salvation Army is a church. This foundation is what motivates us to do the work that we do.

We love God and serve others because of His love for all. That’s where our mission comes from – to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet needs in His name without discrimination. We want to introduce the love of God into the lives of all who enter our doors. One way we do this is through committed Worship on Sunday Mornings for anyone who chooses to come.

A Place for All
All are welcome at our Salvation Army worship services on Sundays and weekday ministries. You don't need to have ever stepped into a church before to walk through our doors. We hope that you find our worship services to be inviting and God honoring. We’d love to see you anytime.

Corps Worship and Service Centers
The Salvation Army's centers for service, program, and worship are the local Corps/Citadel Community and Worship Centers. There are 20 sites located throughout Northern New England with varying expressions of worship. A list of telephone numbers are available through this site. We would love to meet you!

Each Corps Officer (Ordained Minister) has been "commissioned" from The Salvation Army's School for Officer Training, and many have advanced degrees as well. Each Corps/Citadel Officer, whether a husband and wife team, or single men or women are equally ordained and function in all aspects of ministry.

Sunday Worship
No matter where you are in your walk with Christ, grew up in church, never entered a church before, seeking God or just curious, you are always welcome at The Salvation Army. Each of our Worship and Service Centers in Northern New England offers a Sunday worship service, plus Sunday School and/or Bible Study for adults and children on Sunday mornings. Contact your local center for times. Our worship services are based on local community preferences but will always include singing, scripture, prayer, giving back and solid teaching from the Word of God. We would love to have you join us!

ABCs of Salvation
We want all those we meet to truly experience salvation found in Jesus Christ our Lord. You can follow the basic outline below, praying by faith. (Click on the links). If you would like to talk to someone or attend a Salvation Army in your community to grow in your faith, please refer to the contact map or call our Divisional Office in Portland for further prayer or guidance.
