The Salvation Army of Portland, Maine recently held their seventh annual Champions for Kids benefit evening at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland. The featured entertainment was the nationally acclaimed Beatles tribute band, Beatlemania Magic. More than 300 guests danced and sang along to familiar and popular songs of the Beatles.

The Salvation Army is grateful to all sponsors of the event and media partners WGAN News Radio, Rewind 100.9 and WMTW 8. The event raises much needed funds to sustain and grow services which make a positive impact on children and families in the Greater Portland community.

The Friend of the Army award was presented to Hannaford Charitable Foundation for its generous donation of $50,000 toward The Salvation Army 2016 kettle goals.
