The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. 

At The Salvation Army, we are more than just a hot meal, a warm coat, or a helping hand. We change people's lives. We help individuals and families regain their self-esteem and independence. We treat each and every person who walks through our door as someone special; someone with promise and future. We give people a chance to grow, to belong, to succeed.
And we do it every day.

The Salvation Army has been operating in Bangor, ME since 1886. Since its inception, The Salvation Army has provided its traditional services, assistance with basic needs such as food, clothing and counseling support for those who are rebuilding lives. The goal is to provide high quality services and support to those in need in our community. Last year, The Salvation Army in Bangor touched the lives of over 210,000 individuals, thereby providing essential services to this community.

The Salvation Army Bangor Corps has a nine-town service area, which includes: Bangor, Brewer, Exeter, Glenburn, Hermon, Kenduskeag, Levant, Orrington and Veazie.

The Salvation Army Bangor Corps is located in the heart of the city, 65 S. Park Street. This location is perfect for an organization that is devoted to meeting basic human needs, providing guidance and support to individuals, offering hope in the midst of hopelessness, and empowering families to improve the overall quality of their lives.
