Holidays provide a sense of joy and tradition. Especially during hard times, acknowledging holiday customs can provide a sense of relief and peace for individuals and families.

Because of this, The Salvation Army endeavors to spread hope not only year-round, but especially during significant holidays.

Each year we meet with families to help them with Christmas toys, food baskets, and holiday meals. If you are in need of our assistance this year, please contact our office at 941-2990.

The community Thanksgiving meal will be held on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at 11:45am

We are now taking Christmas applications.  Applicants must be residents of Bangor, Brewer, Orrington, Veazie, Hermon, Kenduskeag, Levant, Exeter, Glenburn and need to provide proof that the children are living in the home with them.  This can be done through official documentation such as a letter from the school, government assistance letters, paperwork from the Dr's office, or a current lease listing all members of the family residing in the home.  We are assisting ages newborn to 16 .

All inquiries can be directed to Brandie Larcombe at or by calling our office at 207-941-2990

The Christmas meal will be held on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 from 11:45am to 1:00pm.

And don't forget to
volunteer. Volunteers are needed to cook and serve at both community meals, to man our Angel Tree table at the mall Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm, and for our Red Kettle Campaign Monday-Saturday with various shifts available.

Every year we launch our Red Kettle Campaign which not only helps us provide our much needed services during the holidays, but it helps us to be prepared 365 days a year to meet the needs of the less fortunate in the Greater Bangor area.
