Maine - The Old Orchard Beach Salvation Army Advisory Board recently held their annual Civic Breakfast at the Ramada at Saco Plaza.  The event was to raise awareness and funds to provide a camping experience for local children to attend The Salvation Army’s Camp Sebago in Standish, Maine.
 
Guest speakers, Kevin Mannix and his wife Linda Rota authors of Weathering Shame.  In this book the authors share their life experiences and feelings of shame and the stigma that results from growing up exposed to alcoholism, severe depression and suicide. The goal is for readers to benefit from their struggles, raise awareness and to be inspired and encouraged by their personal stories to embark on their own journey of self-discovery, recovery or awareness.
