Portland, ME. (April 3, 2020) Clark Insurance announced today a $1500. donation to The Salvation Army COVID 19 relief efforts. This donation was part of a matching gift from an anonymous donor who also gave $1500 for a total of $3000.

President, Jeff Shaw states, “Amidst the rapid changes and pressures we are all facing, we made the decision to halt our advertising efforts and redirect those funds to organizations addressing food insecurity due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We immediately identified the great work that the Salvation Army is doing and thank them for being such a needed resource for families and individuals in our community.”

Major Mark Mackneer, Divisional Commander states, “We are grateful to Clark Insurance for this donation to help us serve those in need during this crisis. The organization has seen a significant increase in emergency assistance for low-wage employees who may be temporarily laid off due to the coronavirus.”

The Portland Chapter of The Salvation Army has been provided food bags (3 meals per bags) to families and individuals in the community, 60 cases per week.  Also, the organization is assisting with other emergency needs such as heating oil, utilities and rent based on individual cases.
