Portland, ME. (March 27, 2020) - All Salvation Army offices throughout New Hampshire will remain open for emergency services by appointment as to ensure safety and social distancing as per the CDC and local officials. Please contact your local Salvation Army office or call Divisional Headquarters in Portland, ME (207) 774-6304.

The organization has seen a significant increase in emergency assistance for low-wage employees who may be temporarily laid off due to the coronavirus.  

The following is some of the services currently being provided by Salvation Army facilities in the state:

Berlin Salvation Army, 15 Cole Street is providing pick up meals on Mondays.  Also, their Food Pantry is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. 

Concord Salvation Army, 58 Clinton Street is preparing food bags to go from their food pantry.  Intake is being done by phone, please call 603-225-5586. The food is delivered directly to the client’s vehicle on Wednesday & Friday from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm.  Also, a food cart (open to everyone/no appointment necessary) is placed outside the entranceway of the building for individuals to take what they need on Tuesday – Friday 9:30-1:30 pm. 

Greater Seacoast Salvation Army, 15 Middle Street, Portsmouth is providing meals to go for those in need.  Breakfast from 7:00 am – 8:00 am Monday through Friday.  Dinner from 5:00 – 6:00 pm Monday through Sunday.

Laconia Salvation Army, 177 Union Avenue - for assistance please call first for instructions 603-524-1834, no walk ins are allowed at this time.  Soup Kitchen lunches in To Go containers are being handed out at noontime from the facilities rear entrance from Tuesday-Saturday.  Also, continuing to provide groceries from the food pantry and all other social services.  Office hours are Tuesday – Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

Manchester Salvation Army, Mobile Joes program is preparing and providing hot to go meals to the homeless Monday – Friday from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm.  The organization has been working with the city board of health and the local homeless shelter that is currently at full capacity.  Homeless individuals can pick up a meal outside The Salvation Army building located at 121 Cedar Street.   An average 70 meals daily.

Nashua Salvation Army ,1 Montgomery Avenue is distributing prepared food bags as well as bread, pastries, fruits and vegetables Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.  You must call ahead for food assistance 603-883-7841.
