Seaside Pavilion Celebrates 20th Anniversary!
The Salvation Army’s Seaside Pavilion, located in Old Orchard Beach, ME., will celebrate its 20th Anniversary on June 23 with guest performances by the New England Brass Band and Christian artist Francesca Battistelli. Previously named Maine’s “Best Outdoor Venue” by Downeast Magazine, the Seaside Pavilion has hosted numerous speakers and artists since 1998 including Steven Curtis Chapman, Matthew West, Sandi Patty, the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Ricky Skaggs, Mark Schultz, Point of Grace, Michael W. Smith and Laura Story to name a few. Helping to celebrate the milestone event will be the New England Brass Band with a 2 p.m. concert. The 30-piece brass and percussion ensemble is based in Boston and led by Stephen Bulla, former Chief Arranger for “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door on the day of the show. At 6:30 p.m. Francesca Battistelli, a Grammy Award nominee and six-time Dove Award winner, will perform. Tickets to hear this Christian music superstar are $20.75, $30.75 and $40.75.
The Seaside Pavilion was built in 1998 in a location where The Salvation Army has conducted Camp Meetings since 1885. Dedicated by President and Mrs. George Bush, the facility is surrounded by stately white pine trees and nestled in the middle of what is often referred to as the “old camp meeting grounds neighborhood.” The performance venue has excellent stadium style seating with no obstructed views. A covered pavilion and state of the art sound system enhanced by cool ocean breezes and a natural setting make the Seaside Pavilion one of Maine’s great entertainment treasures.
