The Salvation Army provides several financial opportunities that allow you to donate to our mission and provide you and a loved one with lifetime payments. Life payment gift plans have become a very popular way for donors to make major gifts, enhance their retirement and receive significant tax deductions.
Typically, the donor makes the irrevocable gift and reserves the right to receive payments for his or her life (or the donor may direct that a payment be paid to one or two designated individuals for as long as they may live). Upon the passing of the beneficiary(ies) the remainder of the gift property passes to the charity, or becomes available to the charity to be used as the donor directed.
Life payment gifts are made for many reasons. One is personal satisfaction. Donors are able to support major charities and causes in ways that otherwise would be impossible. Another major reason may involve tax and financial rewards. In many cases, life payment gift plans can enhance the investment, retirement, tax, and estate plans of the donor.
Opportunities Include:
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Charitable Remainder Trusts
- Charitable Lead Trusts
You can see how one of these opportunities can benefit you and/or a loved one by creating a personal gift plan to see your income and tax benefits. Visit:
